Over five years ago we bought a farmhouse; this view was one of the selling points. We literally begged, borrowed and stole to get our hands on it, as it was way out of our budget. If ever there was something meant to be, for us; this was it. So we have spent the last five years making it ours, making it beautiful, making it reach its potential. Parts of the house date from the 16th Century...walls that are a foot thick. I love this house. I never ever want to move. As in never.
The house has a plaque on the wall above one of the doors, cemented in place, from the previous owners; the farmer who farmed the land that surrounds our house for 50 years. The plaque says 'Hugh & Pam 1980: Love & Be Happy'. We laughed when we bought the house and said that our motto should be 'Stephen & Louise 2004: Spend and Be Hopeful'. We are still spending and we are still hopeful...
